In 1976, Proposition 14 was initiated by the UFW to remove funding for the Agricultural Labor Relations Board from the State legislature which was sympathetic with the growers. The growers and their supporters then launched a statewide campaign, at the cost of millions of dollars, alleging that the UFW initiative threatened the integrity of the legislature. Proposition 14 lost. Only digital surrogate available, catalogue record is of physical print.
