Stop The NASSCO/FBI Frame-Up Drop All Charges On The NASSCO 3 U.S.S. Cape Cod On September 16, David Boyd, Rodney Johnson, And Mark Loo Were Arrested On Trumped Up Charges Of Conspiring To Bomb The West Coasts Largest Shipyard, The National Steel & Shipbuilding Co. Shipfitters David Boyd And Rodney Johnson Are Members of Shipman's Local 627 Of The Ironworkers Union And Pipefitter Mark Loo Is A Member Of The Internat'l Assn. Of Machinists, Local 389. These Three Were Among 27 Workers Who Had Been Fired For Protesting Health And Safety Conditions During Launching Ceremonies For The Navy Destroyer, The USS Cape Cod, And For Participating In The Three Day Strike Which Came As A Result Of The Firing Of Union Activists. After The Suffocation Deaths of Two Machinists, Michael Beebe And Kenneth King, Occurred On The Cape Cod, Where Just Two Months Earlier David Boyd And Mark Loo As Shop Stewards Led A Work Stoppage Over The Lack Of Ventilation, The Company Needed A Scapegoat To Cover Up Their Criminal Disregard For Health And Safety And Their Blatant Attacks Of The Union. Using Ramon Barton As Informant And Provacateur, The Company Along With The FBI Resorted To A Frame Up, And Other Slanders To Discredit The Fired Union Activists. Following The Frame Up, Workers Charged That Informant Barton Repeatedly Approached Many Of Them To Use Bombs And Other Forms Of Violence To Resolve The Labor Dispute. This Government/Company Attack On The NASSCO Workers Poses A Serious Threat To The Civil Rights Of All Workers And Justice Loving People. It Must Be Stopped! If These Three Brothers Stand To Be Put Away Each For 35 Years Because They Were Active In Their Union In Fighting For Workers Rights And Safety Conditions, Then Who's Next? The Unity And Broad Support Of All Groups And Individuals Will Beat Back These 4 Attacks. Rehire the 27 fired! Stop union busting! Indict NASSCO for criminal negligence in the deaths of Beebe and King! San Diego P.O.
