Stop the Prison and Jail Expansion Dear Friend, Please help us stop the Legislature from including 90,000 more jail cells and 2 more prisons in the Governor's infrastructure plan. Write to your state representative and tell them we don't want to double the number of people locked up in California jails or continue expanding the nation's biggest prision system. The prison and jail expansion over the last 30 years has failed to make our communities any safer. Don't let politicians continue to take funding away from our schools, healthcare, housing, public transportation and other public resources in order to build more cages and imprison more of our friends, family members and neighbors under the false promise of making us more secure.
