Full Text:
3 Strikes You're Out 1994 Slavery Act The " 3 strikes and you're out law" says that if you're convicted of 3 felonies you go to jail for life. Felonies committed by youth 16 to 18 can be counted as strikes. You can get 3 strikes before you reach 18 and go to jail for the rest of your life! It costs $32,0000 to put a teenager in jail for a year. It costs $23,000 a year to got to USC! The South Central Youth Empowerment thru Action (SC-YEA) thinks the money it takes to lock us up should be spent on schools and other programs to help youth. SC-YEA is a group of middle and high school students that believe youth need to make their voices heard to help change their community.
