Full Text:
Six million casualties in the Vietnam war. U.S. bombs North Vietnam dikes; this will cause floods more terrible than Hurricane Agnes. POWs in North Vietnam are bombed daily by the U.S. Air Force. Wages are frozen; corporate profits hit a record high. Price of food skyrockets; eggs are going up 19 cents per dozen. Unemployment is 6% and still rising. GIs come home from Vietnam addicted to heroin; the CIA is implicated in the Southeast Asia dope trade. Watergate and ITT: crime in the suites. Four years of terror in Vietnam: the equivalent of one Hiroshima bomb every week. Four years of terror at home: Kent State, Jackson State, Attica... Nixon's the one whose policies are responsible for this destruction and suffering. Nixon is going to a $1000-a-plate dinner at the Century Plaza Hotel on Wednesday, Sept. 27-his first campaign appearance in Los Angeles. We will be there in the thousands to greet him in an orderly, legal demonstration. We agree with what Nixon said in October 1968: "Those who have had a chance for four years and could not produce peace should not be given another chance." Stop The War Stop Nixon Demonstrate Wednesday, Sept. 27 Century Plaza Hotel: 6 p.m. Please bring a flashlight covered with red cellophane, to light up the Avenue of the Stars and to symbolize the blood of the millions who have died under Nixon's rule. printed by peace press
