We Remember A Torchlight Procession Sunday January 8th 1989 Assemble 5pm Hackney Police Station Lower Clapton Road London E 8 For A Rally With Speakers And A March To Dalston And Stoke Newington Police Stations This march is an annual commemoration and remembrance of those people who have died or been badly injured while in the custody of Hackney police officers. We will not forget the death of Aseta Simms who died in the custody of Stoke Newington police officers in 1978; Tunay Hassan who died in the custody of Dalston police officers in 1987; Collin Roach who died in the steps of Stoke Newington police station in 1983. We will not forget the injuries for which Trevor Monerville needed a major operation, two years ago today, after his custody in Stoke Newington police station. This commemoration is also for those who have died or suffered State violence, outside Hackney, in London and other parts of Britain.
